Post-9/11 GI Bill:

• Must have 90 days of aggregate active duty service after Sept. 10, 2001;
• Still on active duty;
• Honorably discharged Veteran;
• Discharged with a service-connected disability after 30 days.

The Marine Gunnery Sergeant John David Fry Scholarship (Fry Scholarship) provides benifits for:

• Children and surviving spouses;
  
• Servicemembers died in the line of duty while on active duty after September 10, 2001.

Montgomery GI Bill Active Duty, Also Called Chapter 30: Receive up to 36 months of education benefits.​ 10 years to use your MGIB benefits, but the time limit can be fewer.

• You must have served active duty for 2 years to be eligible
• You must have an honorable discharge
• AND you have a high school diploma or GED or in some cases 12 hours of college credit
• AND you meet the requirements listed here.

Veterans Educational Assistance Program (VEAP): Used for a college degree, certifications, vocational or technical training and much more.

• Entered service for the first time between Jan. 1, 1977, and June 30, 1985;
  
• Opened a contribution account before April 1, 1987
• Voluntarily contributed from $25 to $2,700;
• Completed your first period of service and were discharged or released from service under conditions other than dishonorable;
• If you are currently on active duty and wish to receive VEAP benefits, you must have at least three months of contributions available.
